How fresh is NJ permit data?

Publication dates are established four ways, each labeled in the record above: our pipeline checks the state portal every morning and logs the dataset’s publish timestamp (daily monitor); for dates before that monitoring began, the day a publication appeared is reconstructed from our own ingest logs — the morning our fetch counts jumped, with every preceding day verified as an unbroken run of successful zero-result checks, so a monitoring outage can never masquerade as a DCA gap; the February 10 date was confirmed directly with DCA; and older anchors come from Internet Archive snapshots of the dataset’s metadata.

DCA’s dataset is also a rolling window: when new batches are published, older records are sometimes removed or renumbered. PermitRadar ingests every batch and keeps everything — including roughly 22,000 permits that no longer appear in the state dataset at all. Over time, this archive becomes more complete than the source.

When DCA publishes, new permits appear here the same day. The delay you see above is the state’s, not ours.
